Day 7 — 5 THINGS YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY LIVE WITHOUT

Hmm.. Well the first three are easy.

1.) Father God- He is the creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Without Him, none of us would be. He provides the air that we breathe!!! He is aweosme, and I would be nothing without Him, literally.. :)

2.) Son Jesus- He is the Savior of the world. He laid down His life for you and me! He is the ultimate sacrifice for our sin. He gave it all, so that we could be joint heirs with Him! How awesome is that. He is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. Romans (NLT version) says it like this:

Romans 8:34
"Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us."

3.)Holy Spirit- This is the comforter, help, teacher, everything we need!! When Jesus went to sit with the Father, He left us a comforter- The Holy Spirit. I could not live without the leading of the spirit of God. Thank you Lord for entrusting us with the precious Holy Spirit.

4.)Cell Phone- I know, techcincally, I could live without this, but it makes things a lot easier. :)

5.) Food and Water- Obviously we have to have these to live.. :)

Day 6 — A MOMENT YOU WISH YOU COULD RELIVE

Ok, so I am aware that I have not technically abided by the "30 Day Challenge" rules. It has been a pretty crazy week, to say the lesst. I have been busy at work, and I have had some growing moments. This week, I have trusted the Lord to teach me through certain situations I have had to face. I probably have not handled everything perfectly, but I have tried and am learning from it. It is good to know that God is faithful and He is always with us, no matter what we face. I may blog a little about that later.

On to day six of "The Challenge".

One of the most remarkable times in my life came while I was in the Philippines. I had the honor of taking a two week trip to the beautiful Philippines. I went with BTEA (Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association). Do not misunderstand, the whole experience was amazing. To go somewhere where you preach to people who may have never heard of the sacrifice that Jesus made for them. Never heard of a loving God that wants nothing but a personal relationship with them. With that said, I had a lot of incredible moments. But, I am going to share one with you now.

I was preaching at an elementary school one morning. You would be amazed at how the children hang onto every word you say! But we always made a point to tell them that if they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then even if I never see them again on this earth, we will see them in Heaven! I had finished preaching and gave the invitation for them to accept Jesus. We were walking to the Jeepney and here come a whole crowd of children yelling, "We will see you in Heaven, we will see you in Heaven."

My heart melted. I realized that they really do get it! They just heard about the greatness of our God, and are now on a journey with Him. They will never forget the American girl that shared the gospel at their school!!! They new they were on their way to Heaven to spend an eternity with the Lord. It was the best feeling ever!!!! I could do that for the rest of my life and be completely satisfied!!! God is faithful!! That will never change!

Right now, there is a team in the Philippines sharing the Gospel. Please be praying for them. God is moving, we need to jump into the movement!!

In His service,
Ashley

Day 5 — A FAVORITE QUOTE

"HE IS NO FOOL THAT GIVES WHAT HE CAN NOT KEEP TO GAIN WHAT HE CAN NOT LOSE." -Jim Elliot

Jim was a christian missionary to ecuador. He, along with four other missionaries, was killed in an attempt to evangelize the Waodani people. These men gave everything they had to take the message of Jesus Christ to a people who had never heard of the Savior before. What an honor that is.

I often think to myself, is everything I am doing, everything I am giving my attention to advancing the Kingdom of God. Am I willing to give everything, so that one tribe can hear about the saving power of Jesus Christ? I believe that when we come to that place, God will be able to use us how He desires!!! We are to go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel!!! That may mean that we give our life preaching the Gospel! I am fully convinced it will be worth it!

Jim Elliot and the others mentioned here are just a few that have said yes to the call of laying down their life!! Thousands of others right now, all around the world, are doing the same!!! Let's be a part of what God is doing!!! Let's evangelize this world with the one thing that can not fail, the saving power of Jesus Christ!!! The love of God, our Father in Heaven will never fail! Praise Yeshua!

Have a blessed night!

Day 4 — A FAVORITE TELEVISION PROGRAM

Let me think... Operation Repo is something I watch quite often. At first I thought how mean it was to put people's business on national television, but after watching it- some of these people are just hilarious.

I am going to recall my favorite episode this far. They were repoing a guy's car and they had to go to his work to find him. When they find his car, they go in to see if they could get his keys. When he comes out, he was in a chicken suite! The funny part was not him having to wear a chicken suite, but when he comes running across the parking lot acting like a chicken.. Lol... It was just funny!!

I feel bad for people and some circumstances, but some people just act ridiculous, and that is why all these reality tv shows have made so much money!!!

Day 3 — A FAVORITE BOOK

Oh wow, I have a ton of books that I love. Currently, I am reading the Christy Miller series. It is a christian nonfiction series, and I am on my second book of the series. So far so good, :)

That is not my favorite though. My favorite book to read is the Bible. The word of GOd is so rich and good. I could not live without it!!!

Well, time to go home, I will try and catch up even more tomorrow.. :)

Have a blessed evening.

Day 2 — A FAVORITE MOVIE

Seems I have a little catching up to do on my blog. :)

A favorite movie! Wow, this is kind of hard. I will just name one, and part of my decision is because of the person I saw it with.

Confessions Of A Shopaholic!!!

Besides the hilariousness, if that is even a word, of this movie, it is a really good romantic movie.. I am a sucker for a good romance. I guess you could put it in the catagory of romance commedy. As the leading lady tries to get her dream job with a high fashion magazine, it is snuffed out from under her from a tall, blonde, fashionista!! Lol.. So in her quest to be editor at that magazine, he settles for a finance magazine in the same "Dnate West" family!

Come to find out, she falls in love with her boss from the financial magazine, and ends with her facing the fact that she does have a shopping problem and she deals with it. But it is a must see!!!! I just scratched the surface..Haha.

Back to the person I saw it with! I was with my lovely friend Deanna in Michigan. It was a great day that we spent together. Miss you Deanna, will see you in a couple of weeks.

DAY 1 — A FAVORITE SONG

Well, I have many of these. I love music, so it is a challenge to single out one song! Since this is my blog, I may pick a couple! :)

As blogged yesterday, I love the song Born Again by Newsong! Other than that one, How He Loves Us, by various artist, John Mark McMillan, Jesus Culture- to name a few.

Ooooh, another is 1000 Generations, Fail Us Not! I love it so much, I think I will post the lyrics as well! :)

Failure doesn't phase you.
Worry doesn't win.
Lost doesn't leave you afraid to start again.
Our sin doesn't shock you.
Our shame doesn't shame you at all.
Mistakes do not move you.
Terror doesn't tame.
Death doesn't doom you to life in the grave.
Our suffering doesn't scare you.
Our secrets won't surprise you at all.
At all.

There is nothing above you.
There is nothing beyond you.
There is nothing that you can't do.
There is no one beside you.
There is no one that's like you.
There is nothing that you can't do.
Whatever will come, we'll rise above.
You fail us not, You fail us not.
No matter the war, our hope is secure.
You fail us not, You fail us not.
You fail us not.

Hatred doesn't hide you.
Evil doesn't ail.
Despair can't disguise you and tell you that you fail.
Our doubt doesn't daunt you.
Our darkness won't defeat you at all.
At all.

There is nothing above you.
There is nothing beyond you.
There is nothing that you can't do.
Whatever will come, we'll rise above.
You fail us not, You fail us not.
No matter the war, our hope is secure.
You fail us not, You fail us not.
Whatever will come, we'll rise above.
You fail us not, You fail us not.
No, You fail us not.
You fail us not.

God is faithful and He fails us not!! Praise God forever!!!

Have a blessed day!

I found myself looking into the mirrior
Knew I wasnt who I wanted to be
I was living like the way that I wanted
But my eyes reminded me I'm not free.
Beleived that I saw everything that I know
Says I got to go, tired of going solo
But I'm never gonna go there again.

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didnt want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I met the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything thats left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

I see you walking like your living in fear
Having trouble even looking at me
Wishin they would give you more than words
Sick of people telling how it should be (how it should be)
Whats your download, where'd you get your info, you saw that I'm show now your in the inload
Gonna tell you what I believe

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didnt want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I met the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything thats left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

We are the ones they call by name
(I'm never gonna look back)
Let go let go the guilt the shame
(Said I'm never gonna look back)
This is who I am

This is what it is
This is who I am
This is where I finally take my stand
I didnt want to fall
But I don't have to crawl
I met the One with two scarred hands
Giving him the best of everything thats left of
The life inside this man
I've been Born Again

First official blog...

So, my good friend Deanna has gotten me interested in blogging. I like reading other people's thoughts, but never thought of blogging my own. So, here it goes!!! Today has been a pretty busy day! Long holiday weekends always make for an eventful Tuesday and Wednesday following!

This past weekend, I went to visit family in McComb, Ms. We went camping for the weekend. It is always interesting going camping. Generally, we will play around on the 4-wheelers, ride in the boat, fish a little, and so on. This weekend, I decided I wanted to learn how to clean a fish!!!

My dad is a "good ol' country boy" from the deep south, and has probably been doing this since his tiny tot days, lol! Me, I lived with my mom and step dad, and we would just make a quick run to the grocery store when we wanted fish. :) With that said, I did not have a lot of opportunity growing up to learn this art! Haha..

We get the fish in, and my dad gets them all hooked up on the hooks. I was a little scared giving these poor fishies were looking right at me! Trying not to be the "city girl" that I get accused of, I pushed on and preceded to pull the skin off the fish! I will spare with the gory details, but to say the least, it was an adventure! haha. After the first fish is down, it became a little easier each time. Who knows, I maybe bating, hooking and skinning my own fish before it is all over!! :)

I guess that is it for now, we will see what tomorrow will hold! Have a blessed night..
